PH Local Ecommerce SEO Stability in Ranking

Hey there! I hope you’re excited for another case study.

Because, unlike most of my case studies, this project is PROUDLY PINOY.

Pinoy Ecommerce client and Pinoy SEO Freelancer — LABAN PINAS!

So story time…

Project Background:

This local music business owner was referred to me by a friend last January 2021. What makes this project special is that the client and I were both Bisaya speakers and from the same province – Cebu. Yay!

Been helping international clients for years, now is the chance to help my kababayan.

Quick story time inside a story time…lol

  • I was part of a Church children’s choir in Elementary.
  • I was part of an all-girl band (MiNiShaCa) in High School.
  • And a die hard Bisrock (Bisaya Rock) fan in College.

So yeah, you get the point! I looove music so much.

But that’s another chika.

Going back to the main story time…

Client is one of the pioneer manufacturers of local musical instruments in the region. However, they’re having a hard time catching with the latest marketing trends and be updated with fast tech development.

And I think this is common to most traditional businesses, it’s hard for them to transition to digital marketing.

His children continued the legacy and helped him set up the brand’s digital presence

  • Website on Shopify,
  • Social media (Facebook and Instagram),
  • and ecommerce marketplace (Shopee and Lazada).

Great initiative to set up these digital visibility!

Now, comes the exciting (and challenging) part…

Project Challenges:

  • So many local competitors in PH
  • Shopee and lazada optimization,
  • Website SEO ranking and sales

Here are the 5 fundamental SEO campaigns and strategies I did for this client:

  • Keyword Research – Identifying money and traffic keywords. The first step to SEO success is keyword research , when you pick the right money and traffic keywords for your business the rest will follow. Keyword research should be based on data, analysis, customer’s journey and branding.
  • On-page SEO – Main target campaigns are homepage and content. All my SEO clients highly prioritize optimizing the Homepage, because it’s the storefront of the brand. Key goal is to make sure when you’re showing up, you’re also converting. I highly believe that RANKINGS and TRAFFICS are useless if you can’t convert them into sales.
  • Technical SEO – This involves navigation, indexation and other tech stuff. Aside from the fancy storefront, we also need to make sure that the backend is well-optimized. Technical SEO is for the web crawlers. This includes indexation, page speed, sitemap, and making sure all the broken links are fixed and/or redirected correctly.
  • Off-page SEO – Here’s another thing I love working on local clients: local PR and media features in the Philippines. You see, I was a media practitioner before a marketing strategist. I worked in a local TV network before, so I know how media works in terms of PR and featured stories. For this client, I give emphasis on 3 things: music, culture, and art.
  • Local SEO – Since this is a PH local client, I also need to make sure we’re optimized in Google My Business profile. That being said, map address, phone number, photo, shop, reviews are my key focus.

Did my SEO strategy work? ABSOLUTELY!

SEO Win #1: Created a stable ranking. Bounce from 99th to 1st position.

SEO Win #2: Successful off-page strategy – Local PH Media Coverage.

SEO Win #3: 47% Increase in sales traffic all from Search.

SEO Win #4: 195% Increase in Search Sales

SEO Win #5: Massive increase in keywords in just 1 month.

PS – Rankings and data are subject to change depending on how competitive your keywords and market is. Though all this data is encouraging, there is no exact timeline on how you can get the same result as shown above. We need to formulate a strategic roadmap tailored to your current business needs and goals, then grow from there.

PPS – The data shown were taken when the SEO campaign is on-going, since this data was taken in the year 2021, it may or may not be the same as the campaign already ended. Note that SEO needs on-going maintenance.
