Product & Service SEO Campaign Growth in 10 Months

So excited to share this another solid SEO case study from a client in Georgia.

To get started, this client was referred to me by a friend.

The client is in the boating industry, what makes it challenging is he offers both product and service. He sells boats and offers boating services. He also created a small team here in PH, so most of my colleagues in the marketing and accounting department are pinoys.

When I was onboard with the team, they had an SEO guy from India, however there’s no massive growth and concrete strategies, KPIs, and goals in place. So they hired me to test other strategies and work with him.

So the first 2 things I did was (1) do intensive audit and (2) map-out a solid SEO strategy.

And like any other business, here are the challenges for this campaign.

  • Weak digital presence – Client is already established locally, great customer service and customer reviews, however, he’s not well-optimized digitally. So we focused on website and social media to build an online presence for the brand.
  • Working with a team – Teamwork is the key in every business. The challenge is coordinating your campaign to different fields of marketing like design, content, development, and specially dealing with managers.
  • On-going website redesign – Have you ever optimized an on-going redesign? It’s like beating around the bush. You optimize the page, next thing you know, the developer comes in and changes the design etc. Or vice versa, you as an SEO may mess up a fresh design. So as an SEO, I need to make sure that all the changes are well-documented and coordinated with all the parties involved.
  • Both product & service target – There’s a separate marketing campaign for client’s who’re offering products. And a separate campaign for service-providers. This is the first client that offers both product and service. So I need to create a strategy that will target 2 goals: (1) sell a product and (2) book the service.

  1. Create a solid SEO roadmap – 3-month & 6-month gameplan
  2. Clean-up toxic backlinks from the previous campaign
  3. Identify and target money & traffic keywords and pages
  4. On-page optimization for existing pages
  5. New blog content and page creation for target missing KW
  6. Off-page optimization – backlink creation and cleanup; create partnership
  7. Tech optimization – Website Redesign, Navigation updates, CRO

Am I going to spill the tea on those 7 key strategies above? Nope. LOL
